Types of Pilates classes and the benefits… which is for me?
Taking time to reconnect with your body after giving birth isn’t always easy.
Postnatal pilates enables you to return to exercise safely, helping you to feel empowered and re-energised.
Postnatal pilates helps prevent and reduce neck, shoulder and back pain which is so common in new mums.
Physio-guided exercise also helps in the management of Rectis Diastasis (abdominal separation), pelvic floor dysfunction & prolapse.
Even years after having bub, we can still work on “post-natal” goals
Choose from:
- Mini & Me Circuit - equipment based class, working at your own pace max 3 people
- Mums & Bubs - mat based group class, modifications offered
(non-mobile babies welcome)
Suitable from 6 weeks post partum. Doctors clearance required.
Postnatal Pilates
Exercise in a safe and effective way throughout your pregnancy.
A maximum of only 4 people in a class, means that your personal needs are always met.
We respect that each pregnancy is different and every mum to be has different goals for exercise.
Not only does prenatal pilates help your body prepare for the physical (and mental) demands of giving birth, but it also promotes faster recovery post-birth.
The aim is to keep you strong enough to cope with the ever changing demands of growing a little human!
Prenatal Pilates
Pilates builds strength from the inside out, ensuring your deep core muscles are working correctly and then layering general muscle strength on top of that.
Using the 6 core principles of pilates, we work to achieve symmetry throughout your body - in flexibility, strength and control, allowing for efficient movement.
You will achieve improved spine and joint mobility, increased global and core strength, visibly improved muscle tone and better balance and posture.
Choose from:
- Core Mat - mat based group class using small equipment.
Strong focus on deep core strength, hip and shoulder mobility and stability as well as posture correction.
- Power Pilates - 75% mat, 25% studio equipment.
This class is for intermediate-advanced Pilates practitioners. A fast paced, full body workout targeting strength, fitness and dynamic core control
